The first step is to stop and consider what you are going to be using the gun or pistol for. Most people enjoy target shooting, and this is great way to get started. Virtually all Airsoft guns are going to be designed to either have a scope mounted or not, so don't try to buy a gun with sights and then mount a scope unless the gun is so designed.

Airsoft pistols are often a new air gunner’s first choice because there is just something about firing a pistol that seems to appeal to almost everyone. Most pistols are going to suit any adult, although women or men with smaller hands may want to check out a variety of models that will fit snuggly in the hand in the correct position.

Aside from deciding on Airsoft guns or Airsoft pistols there are also a couple of other considerations. Perhaps the biggest is the price range you want to go with or at least stay within. As mentioned earlier, there are outstanding Airsoft guns and pistols available for cheap, and those come complete with battery and charger, all you need to do is buy ammunition. There are also guns that are a bit pricier.

For most people who get into Airsoft guns and the sport of shooting it seems to become addictive. They are constantly adding new types of Airsoft pistols or guns to their collection, so starting with a basic model is a great idea for several reasons. First it is a good learning gun and won't be difficult to manage just basic point and shoot. Secondly you can take a look at what features you like on your basic Airsoft gun and either include those or exclude those in your next purchase. This makes a lot more financial sense than buying a really expensive gun or pistol only to find out it just doesn't meet your needs.

Always check the manufacturers’ warranty on any Airsoft guns or Airsoft pistols that you purchase. In addition, be sure to look at the accessories that come along with the gun. Many have custom cases, extra cartridges and other features that will make your shooting experience even more enjoyable. Finally, don't forget to get some protective eye wear to use whenever you are out hunting or on the target range.
